In Loving Memory of DuWayne Cook 9/19/1929 ~ 11/5/2005 LAYTON - DuWayne Cook, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away at age 76 due to a courageous fight over injuries and complications he sustained in an automobile accident. He was born September 19, 1929 in Syracuse, Utah to Leonard and Leah Cook. He grew up in Syracuse and later moved to Great Fall, MT. On October 4, 1947 he ran away to marry the love of his life, Leone Marie Harant and spent the next 58 wonderful years together creating many family traditions that will live on forever. They had four beautiful daughters, Carma Kent (Robert), Carol Yamamoto (Sharm), Sherry Cox (Vance), and Susie who passed at a very early age. They have 11 loving grandchildren and 81/2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Darlene Clark (Gill); son-in-law, Glen B. Jones; and his best friend and loving pet, Patty! Over his life, he has enjoyed rebuilding and restoring many cars with his former son-in-law, Glen Jones, but his pride went especially to his Show Trucks, that have received many trophies and plaques. He retired from HAFB where he had the opportunity to travel all around the world. He was awarded many high honors for his accomplishments. DuWayne was always ornery, and it was always his way or no way, but at the drop of a pin he would be there to help anyone. It is his knowledge and determination that will be missed as much in death as loved in life. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Leah; one daughter, Susie; and a son-in-law, Robert. A special thanks to the many nurses and doctors who cared for him at Ogden Regional Medical Center ICU unit, and his very special doctor. We love and will miss him dearly. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 9, 2005, 11 a.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 at the mortuary. Email family condolences to llm@lindquistmortuary.com
