Huntsman foundation names new president

Janet Bingham, a University of Arizona administrator, will become president of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation starting Jan. 1.

The foundation is a freestanding charitable organization that provides financial support to the Institute. Chairman of the board Jon M. Huntsman Sr. announced her appointment this week.

"We feel very fortunate to have Dr. Bingham on our team," he said. "She is a capable and talented individual who will help the Huntsman Cancer Foundation move forward toward accomplishing its goals."

Bingham is vice president for university advancement at the University of Arizona, where she serves as chairwoman of the development executive committee, which oversees all of the university's fund-raising goals and activities. She also serves as chairwoman of the executive committee's just-completed $1 billion fund-raising campaign. She also served as the university's assistant vice president for health sciences and serves on the A Foundation Board of Directors, Eller College of Management's National Board of Advisors, the Steele Children's Research Center Advisory Board, and other community boards and university committees.
