Eric Liu, educator, author and founder of the Guiding Lights Projects, will speak on "Passing It On: Race, Culture & Education" Thursday at the Salt Lake City Public Library, 210 E. 400 South.

The project showcases the strategies and stories of great mentors, teachers, and coaches from many professions and cultures. Liu is author of "The Accidental Asian and Guiding Lights."

Liu has an interest in how people pass on values, ideas, and stories — in politics and business, public life and the private sector.
