Lily Whitaker Littlefield 1911 ~ 2005 WEST VALLEY CITY - Lily Francis Warren Whitaker Littlefield, 93, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2005 in Bluffdale, Utah. She was born December 27, 1911, in Lovell, Wyoming, a daughter of William Zenos and Sarah Ann Ames Warren. She attended schools in Lovell, Wyoming; Idaho Falls, Idaho; and in Montana. As a young girl, she worked at Barren Woolen Mills in Brigham City. Lily married John Edward Whitaker on April 27, 1931. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 14, 1972. They had three sons, Warren Edward, 'V' Robert, and Merrill Warren. John preceded her in death on August 4, 1982. In 1988, she married Franklin Littlefield. He passed away in 1995. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in different callings throughout the years. At the age of 68, she and her husband served a full time mission to the Texas Dallas Mission. Lily worked full time at the Naval Supply Depot and Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1964. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, hunting, and horseback riding around the mountains by their cabin. She also loved to square dance, bowl and travel around in her trailer. She loved to crochet and made many beautiful afghans. She also loved crafts of any kind and always completed beautiful projects. Surviving are three sons, Warren Edward (Eleanor) Whitaker, Sunset; 'V' Robert (Jo Ann) Whitaker, West Valley City; Merrill Warren (Judy) Whitaker, Shingletown, CA; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grand-children and five great-great-grand-children. Also surviving are her sister and brother, Sylvia Goddard, Layton; and William (Trudy) Warren, Ogden. She was preceded in death by her husbands and one sister, Ila Burt. Her family would like to thank the staff at Apple Village Assisted Living Center in Layton, Beehive Home in West Jordan, Life Path Hospice, and especially Kathy.
