Obituary: Arnold C. Smith

Arnold C. Smith "Arnie" On November 6, 2005 our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend was called home after battling pneumonia. He will truly be missed. He was a friend to all and could usually find someone that he knew where ever he traveled. Born July 30, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of Harry and Agnes Hudson Smith. Married Rose Cordova in 1942; later divorced. Married Karma Peterson in 1953; later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was active in the LDS Church. He loved his family, friends and country! He served with honor and pride in the US Army during World War II. Survived by wife, Karma; children: Duane (Suzanne) Rogers, Tawnya (Garth) Luke, Brad (Cyndy) Smith, Dan (Charlotte) Smith, Blaine Smith, Scott (Katia) Smith, Paul (Dixie) Smith; 23 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by granddaughters: Jaesha and Audrey Smith. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the devoted staff of the Salt Lake VA Hospital for making Arnold's last days comfortable and in helping him to pass with dignity and peace. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the Centennial Park Ward, 3372 South Merry Lane (5275 West). A viewing will be held Thursday, 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 am prior to service. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
