MATT MARSHALL, Skyline: There's no doubt 2005 has been an odd season for the Skyline football team, which lost the final four games of the regular season.

This senior QB has made sure those struggles are long forgotten. Marshall passed for a touchdown and rushed for another this past weekend as the Eagles beat Hunter 28-7 as Skyline advanced to its 13th straight state semifinal appearance.

So far this year, Marshall has passed for 844 yards and six TDs, while rushing for 983 yards and 17 TDs.

Marshall's older brother, Grady, is a senior on the University of Utah football team. His dad won a state championship with Skyline 36 years ago.

PRICILLA LOLOHEA, Highland: It isn't just this senior's athletic ability that helped her team to a 4A state title last weekend. It's her personality.

"She's got a tremendous attitude and work ethic," said Rams coach Clint Barnes. "She's just our overall team leader. She brings so much to the team."

Her commitment to her teammates is unparalleled and it gave the Rams the edge they needed to defeat region rival Cottonwood for the state championship Saturday. The outside hitter finished the tournament with 61 kills, and was named the tournament MVP.

"She's just helped us out all year, in every way," Barnes said. "The way she handles herself on the court is an example to her teammates."
