PROVO — The Emergency Alert System will sound across Provo at noon today.

But residents shouldn't worry: This is only a test.

Provo will be conducting an annual test of the Emergency Alert System to make sure it is in working order. The sirens, which are located in Provo's Riverbottom area, will sound in 15-second intervals for about one minute. A verbal warning will accompany the alarm.
