In 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and killed 2,000 Americans.

In 2001, Middle Eastern terrorists attacked in New York and killed 3,000 Americans.

The right thing for the United States to do in the 1940s was to attack Germany, where we commonly lost more than 2,000 soldiers in one day.

The right thing for us to do in 2006 is to continue the war on terror in Iraq, where there will one day be a free country— fair to its own people and friendly to American citizens — like Germany and Japan.
