A Tremonton man died after the semitrailer truck he was driving exploded on I-84 Monday.

Killed was:

Patrick C. Williams, 48.

Officials are awaiting autopsy results to determine whether a medical condition was to blame when Williams initially veered off the road. Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jeff Nigbur said the truck crashed into a metal barrier, causing the gas tank to ignite and the cab to explode.

Williams was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was burned inside the cab of the truck, according to a UHP report. The truck was en route to a nearby warehouse carrying packaged lima beans.
