SALT LAKE ACTING COMPANY, 168 W. 500 North, on Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for "The Water Project," a compilation of short plays about water and the West by 15 playwrights.

There are roles for three males, ages 40s-50s, and two females, 30s-40s. Auditioners must be familiar with the script (excerpts available at the SLAC box office). Both Equity and non-Equity performers are welcome. These auditions are by appointment only (363-0526).

Rehearsals begin March 6 and play dates are April 4-30.

"SHEAR LUCK" on Dec. 17, 3-6 p.m., in the Grand Theatre, 1575 S. State, for the world premiere of a new musical comedy by Brenda Sue Cowley and Kevin Mathie.

Dan Larrinaga is directing. All roles are open. Adult males and female performers of all ethnicities, 18 and older. Come prepared to sing 16-32 bars of any contemporary Broadway show tune. An accompanist will be provided. Auditioners may also be asked to read from the script. These auditions are by appointment only (957-3322).

Callbacks are Dec. 19, 6-9 p.m. Rehearsals will begin Jan. 30 and play dates are March 10-25. All performers will receive a stipend.

"CINDERELLA" on Jan. 4 and 5, from 7-10 p.m. in Room B-3 of the SCERA Center, 745 S. State, Orem. Mindy B. Young is directing the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical version of the fairy tale.

All roles are open for those who are 16 and older, and children, 6 and older. Come prepared to sing 16 measures of a Broadway-style song. An accompanist and CD player will be available. Children will be involved in the chorus.

There are also eight featured children's roles which require trained tumblers and dancers (225-2787 or www.scera.org). Play dates are March 3-27.
