The Davis County Commission is holding a public hearing today on the county's proposed 2006 budget. The hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. in room 230 at the Davis County Courthouse, 28 E. State in Farmington.

Highlights of Davis County's proposed $93.7 million 2006 budget include a $4 million increase in the general fund budget over the projected 2005 budget. The Aging Services budget was increased only $19,800 over the projected 2005 budget.

The Health Department received a $200,000 boost, while tourism received $900,000 more in the proposal.

Commissioners are expected to approve the proposal after today's public hearing
