Choral Vespers will be offered Christmas Sunday at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E. South Temple.

The public is invited to the traditional evening service at the Catholic cathedral. Starting 5 p.m., the cathedral choir will mark the holiday with chants, psalms and other choral music.

"The choir will perform works by Francis Poulenc, David Bevan, Cristobal de Morales and Gustav Holst," says a press release by the cathedral's Andrew Unsworth.

"Choral Vespers will continue each Sunday through the Epiphany," he said. The Epiphany is celebrated on Jan. 8.

"This is a unique opportunity for all to celebrate the Christmas season with these 'most musical of services.' "
