Obituary: Milton Howe Brinton, M.D.

Milton Howe Brinton, M.D. 4/22/21 ~ 12/27/05 Dr. Milton Howe Brinton died peacefully in his sleep at his daughter's home in Pleasant Grove, Utah, on December 27, 2005, after spending a delightful holiday with his family. Milt lived a full life! He loved hunting, fishing, camping, skiing, scuba diving and family vacations. In his youth he was active in sports, boxing, student government and scouting. He earned his Eagle at 13 and was also a Silver Beaver recipient. He had an enthusiasm for life and a work ethic that will long be remembered. His greatest joy came from serving others and sharing his fishing "secrets" with the kids! Milt had an unquenchable desire to learn and he loved to study church doctrine. He was active in the LDS church and became a great "fisher" of men while serving a mission to Canada and later serving two more missions with his wife to Africa and Argentina. He taught his children the Gospel by his life-long example of faithful obedience and service. Milt loved working as a sealer in the Provo Temple. He was devoted to his wife, family and the Savior. Milt was born April 22, 1921, in Victor, Idaho to Milton Huffaker and Sarah Edna Howe Brinton. He married Leah Ritchie in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 20, 1946. He served in the ROTC, COTC and as Full Commander in the US Marine hospital in San Francisco, CA. He later opened a private practice in vascular and general surgery in Oakland, California. Milt and Leah raised their children in the Bay Area. His wife preceded him in death just five months ago. He is survived by his six children: Milton H. Brinton (Barbara), Mission President in Rio, Brazil; Jill Bigelow (Rob), Pleasant Grove, UT; Jody Ross (Wayne), Provo, UT; Cheryl Bailey (Dave), Provo, UT; Gary Brinton (Monica), Provo, UT; Rodney Brinton, Orem, UT. He currently has twenty-seven grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, 2005 at 11:00 a.m., in the Sharon East Stake Center, 2400 North 1060 East, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the stake center from 9:30-10:45 prior to services. Internment will be East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery, Provo, UT. Condolences may be sent to
