Prudential Utah Real Estate announced the opening of a new office in South Ogden and the expansion of its Layton office. The South Ogden office will be managed by Fred Jacobsen, along with his assistant manager, Bill Turner. Other new agents moving to the firm are Mary Hurlburt, Gail Geiger, Paula Naisbitt, Nita Vono, Shelly Rovira and Shanna Davenport. The Layton office is managed by Sandy Hoover.

Jillinda Bowers was promoted to managing broker for the Union Park office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. Bowers has been with the company for 12 years, most recently as associate broker. She serves on the Utah Association of Realtors board of directors.

Salt Lake-based MHTN Architects announced it has named three senior associates and nine associates to the firm. The senior associates are Barrett Powley, Amber Walbeck and Sean Wright. Powley has 13 years of experience in the architecture field. He joined MHTN in 1994. Walbeck joined the firm in 1995 and leads the interior design efforts for MHTN's West Studio. Wright joined MHTN in 2000 and has developed and implemented the firm's corporate marketing program. MHTN's new associates are Margareta Hjorth-Vlasic, Peggy McDonough-Jan, Chad Nielsen, Dennette Nobles, Vince Olcott, Bree Phillips, Brian Parker, Carlos Ruiz and Josh Vel.

O'Currance Teleservices, a Salt Lake-based provider of telemarketing products and services, has named David Meine as executive vice president. Meine previously served as the company's vice president of sales and technology. In his new role, he will direct O'Currance's new business development.

Alpine Home Medical Equipment announced three new hires. Mellissa Phillips was named marketing director. She is a graduate of the University of Utah. Jon Rhodes was hired as Utah County sales representative. Rhodes has five years of experience in the home medical industry and is a graduate of Utah Valley State College. Shaun Smith has joined the company's billing team. He has previous experience in collections and recovery.

The Utah State Courts' Judicial Council has formed a new standing committee to address public outreach efforts through the state court system. Judge Judith Billings, of the Utah Court of Appeals, will serve as chairwoman of the Standing Committee on Judicial Outreach. Other committee members include Judge Kimberly Hornack, 3rd District Court; Judge Samuel McVey, 4th District Court; Judge John Baxter, Salt Lake City Justice Court; Brent Johnson, general counsel, Administrative Office of the Courts; Diane Cowdrey, director of education, Administrative Office of the Courts; Beani Martinez, trial court executive, 2nd District Juvenile Court; Jennifer Yim, civic community representative; Allison Barlow Hess, communication professor, Weber State University; Shelley Thomas, former director of communications and public affairs, Huntsman Cancer Institute; Carol Barlow Lear, coordinator for School Law and Legislation, Utah State Office of Education; Toby Brown, director of communications, Utah State Bar; Jessica Van Buren, Utah State Law Library; and Nancy Volmer, public information officer, Administrative Office of the Courts.

Clearfield City announced three new hires. Gary L. Cohen was named recreation director for the city. He will oversee this summer's scheduled opening of the new Clearfield City Aquatic Center. Natalee W. Flynn and Marliss T. Scott were named public relations/special events coordinators for the city. In this job-share position, Scott and Flynn will market Clearfield's annual Heritage Days and the new aquatic center.

Cory Martin has joined InterNet Properties as a commercial agent. He specializes in all aspects of the commercial real estate market, including office, retail, industrial and land. Martin graduated from the U.S. Air Force in 2001.

Tiffany Hales Vincent was appointed by Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. as a member and chairwoman of the Workforce Appeals Board. Vincent served most recently as an administrative law judge and legal counsel of the Utah Department of Workforce Services. The appeals unit is the first level of appeals for unemployment insurance, public assistance and training services.

LKL, a building material supplier, announced it has appointed Jeff Fedderson as outside sales representative of its West Jordan store. He will be responsible for selling drywall and steel products. Fedderson has four years of experience in the industry. Tony Sutherland was named product specialist at LKL's Layton Store. Sutherland worked for 23 years as a drywall finisher, job foreman and project manager for another drywall company. Mark Newkirk was hired as outside sales representative at LKL's Orem store. He will be responsible for selling stucco and manufactured stone products. Newkirk has more than 14 years of experience working in stucco and stone.

Sidney L. Young was promoted to regional sales director with AmeriPlan Corp., a national provider of discounted health benefits. It has more than 60,000 independent business owners across the country, providing medical, dental, vision, prescription and chiropractic discounts. The company is based in Plano, Texas.

Glenn D. Prestwich, presidential professor of medicinal chemistry at the U. College of Pharmacy, was elected a fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. Prestwich joined the U. pharmacy faculty in 1996 as chairman of medicinal chemistry and now directs two Utah Centers of Excellence.

Z Pizzeria, a Salt Lake gourmet pizza shop, has named Kenny Vidal as restaurant manager. Vidal joined Z Pizzeria soon after the restaurant's opening in August 2004. In his new role, he will be responsible for food preparation, kitchen management, inventory management and staffing.
