LAS VEGAS — Heath Totten pitched seven strong innings and Cody Ross hit the game winning home run to lead the Las Vegas 51s past the Salt Lake Stingers 3-2 on Thursday.

Mike Venafro got the final four outs for his first save of the season, combining with Totten for a six-hit performance. Byron Myrows run-scoring single tied the game in the sixth, and Ross won the game an inning later with a solo home run over the fence in right-center. Henri Stanley also hit a solo home run for the 51s, and shortstop Jose Flores singled and scored.

Chris Prieto led Salt Lake with a 2-for-3 performance, while Adam Pavkovich doubled and scored.

The two teams play again tonight in Las Vegas. First pitch is scheduled at 8:05 p.m. MDT.
