How I Do It: LDS Women Artists Discuss Their Lives and Work, at the BYU Museum of Art from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event features nationally known LDS artists Lee Udall Bennion, Jenni J. Christensen and Rebecca Clark Knudsen. Each artist will show examples of her works and talk about how she balances the many roles she is asked to play. Free.

Veterans can get help, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Provo Workforce Service Center, 1550 N. Freedom Blvd.. A Field Service Officer from the Veterans of Foreign Wars will be there to assist individuals in understanding and applying for rightful VA benefits, preparing and documenting application for compensation, pension, hospitalization and other benefits. Garden Gala at the Cobblestone Kitchen Class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join Lori Bennett as she teaches how to host a Victorian ladies luncheon or Mother's Day Brunch. She will give practical tip on each how-to's for fun outdoor spring parties, complete with almond tarts, salads, finger sandwiches, picnic chicken, and edible flowers. Meet Arthur the Aardvark, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Provo Towne Centre mall. The popular children's animated series character is a part of the Children's Festival at the center to benefit Primary Children's Medical Center through the Children's Miracle Network. Other activities include free crafts, face painting and more. Most activities are free, some have a fee.

Annual Mother's Day Fashion Show at the Courtyard at Jamestown, 3352 N. 100 East, Provo, 2 p.m. The show will feature residents and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fashions are from Talbots and Dillards. Refreshments will be served. The public is welcome. Free.

Running With Angels 5K Run/Walk, registration at 7 a.m., race at 9 a.m. All proceed will go to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center Weight Management program. Entry fee is $30. Participants can register either in person at Runner's Corner, 330 E. 800 South, Orem, or online at Participants must meet at the Mt. Timpanogos Park, adjacent to Canyon View Park at the base of Provo Canyon by 7:30 a.m. to board shuttle buses that will transport them to the starting ling of the race, at the base of Bridal Veil Falls. The race follows a 3.1 mile route along the Provo Canyon running trail back to the park.
