Salt Lake City police announced Wednesday they are looking for a 35-year-old man in connection with a weekend homicide at Liberty Park.
Investigators want to question Darrell Ray Sturmer in connection with the stabbing death of Joshua Jacobson.
Both Sturmer and Jacobson were at the drum circle at Liberty Park Sunday, according to police. The two became involved in some type of altercation, said Salt Lake City police detective Dwayne Baird. It was unknown Wednesday exactly what the altercation was over, he said.
Jacobson was stabbed in the chest and died at the scene.
Police say Sturmer goes by the street name "Dingo." He is a street person who could be staying with friends, Baird said.
Sturmer is five feet six inches tall, 170 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a tattoo on his left arm.
A check of court records showed Sturmer has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 1987, mostly for charges of theft.
