Miata tech day. Miata owners and enthusiasts are invited to attend the annual Miata Club of Utah's Tech Day Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon at Extreme Auto, 707 N. 1000 West.
The free event provides an opportunity to mingle with enthusiasts and master technicians and participate in Miata-related activities. Extreme Auto's hoists will be available for Miata owners to inspect their vehicles and change the oil.

Davis preschool registration. The Davis County School District Preschool will hold registration for the 2005-2006 year on Saturday at 9 a.m. to noon at the Family Enrichment Center, 320 S. 500 East, Kaysville. Red Cross swim lesson. The next session of the American Red Cross's Learn-to-Swim program begins April 18 with registration due by April 11. Classes will be at the Bountiful Recreation Center. Swim lessons are typically 25 minutes long and run for four weeks and cost $30. For more information call 298-6220.

A seven-week Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) class is being offered by the South Davis Metro Fire Agency. People living in the cities served by the agency or in the unincorporated areas may sign up for the course, which began Thursday. Citizens Patrol Class. Applicants must be 18 years or older, have a valid driver's license, be a U.S. citizen, submit to a criminal history check and be willing to learn. Applications can be picked up at the front desk in the Police Lobby, Clearfield City Municipal Building, 55 S. State, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
