Free movies. The Utah State Fairpark is hosting a free outdoor movies each Friday in June. Fairpark gates will open at 6:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at sundown. On June 24 is "Napoleon Dynamite."

Adopt a cat. Go to Salt Lake County Animal Services, 511 W. 3900 South, during June and receive $10 off the adoption fee, or adopt two cats or kittens for the price of one. Regular adoption fees are $60 for an unspayed or neutered cat, and only $25 for a sterilized cat. The adoption fee includes the spay or neuter (if needed), a veterinarian's health exam, a microchip, a collar, ID tag and cat carrier, and a new forever furry friend. Free foot health screenings. June 25, 7:30 a.m. until noon at the Utah Arts Festival in Library Square, 210 E. 400 South.
Sunday
Home run. Members of the Senior High Youth Group at St. James Episcopal Church in Midvale have arranged for the Sunday, June 26, Stingers game at 2 p.m. to benefit the Road Home shelter in downtown Salt Lake City.
