A man who allegedly threatened to blow up two Salt Lake City buildings with dynamite was charged this week in 3rd District Court.

Six weeks ago, the 52-year-old man left a voice message at the desk of a KSL News employee saying there were "24 tons of TNT packed at the LDS Conference Center, due to be set off at 5 p.m., news time," according to court documents. He then said Channel 5 would be blown up "during the newscast," the documents state.

He was charged with two second-degree felony counts of using a hoax weapon of mass destruction to threaten substantial property damage. He is being held in the Salt Lake County Jail on $25,000 bail.
