Thomas England Steele 1977 ~ 2005 Thomas England Steele, 28, died August 12, 2005 after a three-year battle with a brain tumor. Tom was born April 16, 1977 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Thomas Steward Steele and Sandra Shipley Steele. He grew up loving volleyball and soccer (his inbound passes were amazing) and jazz (recruited for the trombone because of his long arms), but his greatest talent by far was vexation, an unsolvable challenge for totally unprepared parents. Tom was a paradox; there wasn't a toy, machine, article of clothing, or piece of furniture that he couldn't trash without blinking; but when the punishment was a bit overreaching in frustration, he never failed to immediately forgive. Tom graduated from Clayton Valley High School, California and attended BYU. He married Merle Inserto November 30, 1996; sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple; later divorced. Tom is a devoted father to his son, Malachi, and is deeply sorry to leave him so soon. Tom bore his pain with dignity, humor and charity. He blossomed in service to his Grovecreek Third (YSA) Ward, and was mentored and nurtured by his good Bishop. His message to family and friends would be: "Don't worry about me. I'm having the time of my life. Be happy." Preceded in death by his grandmother, Elizabeth Steele. Survived by his seven year old son, Malachi delos Steele; parents, Tom and Sandy Steele; sisters, Jennifer Walker (Timothy), Amy Skouson (Eric), Katy Francom (Erin) and Marian; brothers, Matthew (Jenni), Elder Peter Steele and Ben; his grandparents, Elbert Steele and Gerald and Madge Shipley; and scores of other family members. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the Grovecreek Third and Seventh Ward Chapel, 942 N. 500 E, Pleasant Grove. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 S. 300 E., Pleasant Grove, and one hour prior to funeral services.
