In your editorial, "A day of contrasts in Utah," you compare the "noisy protesters" who demonstrated against the president's policies with Willie Hunsaker, a World War II veteran and community volunteer. You ask the question, "Which of these best represents the spirit that has made America great?"

To answer your question, I borrow a line from an essay Barbara Kingsolver wrote following the Sept. 11 attacks: "There are as many ways to love America as there are Americans, and our country needs us all."

Our country needs many more Willie Hunsakers, but we also need Americans who are willing to speak up when they believe our great nation is on the wrong path.
