Dare to disconnect

SHARE Dare to disconnect

Hurray for Betsy Hart's column on "unplugging" (Aug. 26). When we built our new home 13 years ago and our seven children were between 4 and 16 years old, we decided no cable and no antennae. We have a portable TV in the pantry for LDS conference and huge news items and one in the family room for movies only, which I can control. My children spent more time practicing piano and other instruments, playing outdoors, reading and doing homework. We have more time together and so much less noise and contention. Dare to disconnect. It's wonderful.
