Elliot James Anderson 1917 ~ 2005 Our loving father, Elliot James Anderson, 88, passed away at his home in East Millcreek, Utah on August 24, 2005. He was born January 23, 1917 to Lee J. and Laura Crane Anderson in Bennington, Idaho. Raised in the East Millcreek area, he graduated from Granite High School. He was a World War II veteran serving as a company commander in Europe and the Pacific. After the war he served in the Army Reserves, Corps of Engineers, as a Battalion Commander, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He was a general contractor for 40 years, building numerous construction projects throughout Utah and was named Utah General Contractor of the Year. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his work, hunting and riding his horse. He spent many good times at the cabin where he loved being with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Alice of 64 years and his seven children, Elliot and Janet (Ephraim), Thomas and Susan (Park City), Mathea (Park City), Rebecca (Salt Lake City), Jerry and Tauna (Park City), Chris and Jon Christensen (Bountiful) and Steve and Rosemary (Salt Lake City). He has 23 grandchildren (three deceased) and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Amelia Bennion (Sandy). Preceded in death by his parents and brother L. Joel Anderson. Family and friends may visit from 7-9 pm at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South, 2300 East on August 26, 2005. A memorial service will be held August 27, 2005 at the East Millcreek 2nd Ward House, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2550 East) at 12 noon with a viewing prior to the service from 10:45 am - 11:45 am.
