Obituary: Johanna P. Diederich

Johanna P. Diederich "Jane" Early Sunday morning, August 28, 2005, Jane died peacefully at her home in Atria Retirement Center at the age of 97. Jane was born February 9, 1908 to William and Ann Pautsch in Finkenwalde, Randow, Germany. She came to America in 1928 and met John W. Diederich and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved her family and Auerbach's and in her early years was cast in an operetta called "Blossom Time". She also sang on the radio with two other ladies. During the 1930's she and John left Ogden, Utah and moved to Salt Lake City, living in the Harvard and Liberty Wards where they raised their family on Hampton Avenue. She lived there until February 2004. Jane is survived by two sons, J. Robert Diederich (Janet), and Roy W. Diederich (Diana) and her son in law, Harold K. Smith. 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy and husband. Our heart-felt thanks and appreciation to all of you at Atria. You made her final years joyful and her family had the peace of knowing her was special. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Wednesday, August 31, at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 Highland Dr. where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment will be in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
