Keana Whale, 7, shows her father her new shoes at The Road Home Shelter Friday. Thanks to Operation Apple Tree, more than 50 school-age children living at the shelter received clothing and supplies for school. The goods were donated by customers at DownEast Outfitter stores and employees of Educator Mutual. "The beauty of this program is that they (the Road Home kids) can have the same clothes and backpack as everybody else," says Matt Minkevitch, the shelter's executive director. "The value of that is immeasurable."
