Murray fire investigators have determined a blaze at a detached garage at a condominium complex is suspicious.
The fire early Wednesday at the Willows Condominiums near 5600 South and 600 East caused $250,000 damage to the 12-stall garage, destroyed three vehicles and damaged six others, said Murray Deputy Fire Marshal Jesse Valenzuela.
The fire is believed to have started inside the passenger compartment of one of the vehicles, he said. How it was started was still unknown Friday.
Because the garage had no fire breaks, the flames were free to continuously travel from one end of the garage to the other, Valenzuela said. He said if the structure were built today it would be required to have fire walls like the ones used at storage facilities.
