Salt Lake City police were looking for a carjacker Friday.

Two 16-year-old boys told police they were waiting for a relative in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven at 175 E. 800 South, when a man jumped in the backseat of their car and allegedly held a knife to the driver's throat, said Salt Lake City police detective Kevin Joiner.

The man told the driver to take him to Sears, 754 S. State. Once there, the man demanded the boys' money and jewelry and then kicked them out of the car before driving off in their vehicle, Joiner said.
