COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — UVSC's Nic van Vuuren's 3-under 141 in the first two rounds of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Saturday is just four shots off the lead and puts him tied for second place in the individual standings.
"Nic's having another great tournament," said head coach Tommy Johnson. "He caught fire in both rounds towards the end and went 5-under during the last eight holes of the first round and 4-under over his last four holes in the second round. He is just a clutch player."

"We are just young and lacking experience, but these guys fought hard, and their geared up and confident for tomorrow," said Johnson. "This team plays as a unit and it is important to me and important to them, which will help them in the long run."
