Obituary: Coleen Christensen Hunt Newman

Coleen Christensen Hunt Newman 1930 ~ 2005 Coleen Christensen Hunt Newman, 75, passed away September 8, 2005, surrounded by her devoted family. Coleen was born April 9, 1930, in Salt Lake City to Aris and Orlena Christensen. She married her eternal sweetheart, Cal Utley Hunt, March 10, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. They raised five beautiful children and shared 41 wonderful years together until his untimely death. At this same time she also endured the loss of her beloved daughter, Suzanne Hunt Young. She was then blessed to find and marry her current devoted husband, Parley Newman in 1992 and has resided in Provo until the last few months of life. Among many of her talents Coleen was creative and industrious in building her own business. She was also a skilled seamstress, artist and decorator. Everything she touched transformed into a thing of beauty. She led a noble, valiant life, touching many lives as she served in many capacities, but her greatest joy and accomplishment was derived from her posterity. Coleen is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband, Parley Newman, her children, Calleen (Rick) Archibald, Delta, Utah; Gordon (Donna) Hunt, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Vickie (Blaine) Fischer, Charlotte, N.C; and Derald (Kim) Hunt, Atlanta, GA; plus, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Aris Max Christensen and daughter, Suzanne Hunt Young. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2005, in the Edgemont 2nd Ward Chapel, 555 East 3230 North, Provo. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
