States' leaders dropped ball

It is humorous that the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana cried to the feds for help when they had the resources in school and public transportation buses to evacuate many of the people in the greatest danger ahead of time.

The truth is no one anticipated the magnitude of the storm. The elected officials of the states affected were just as apathetic as the federal government.

If we are going to "investigate" FEMA for its "slow" response time, let's add the apathetic local leaders who didn't evacuate more and weren't better prepared.
