Weber State

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: With Tuesday night's loss to Utah State ending a four-win streak, Weber State continues its longest week of the season with five matches in four days, all in New York City.

The Wildcats face St. Francis College on Thursday, finishing the weekend by competing in the Long Island Blackbird Invitational. WSU meets Georgia Southern Friday afternoon, then Long Island and Bowling Green in Saturday matches.

CROSS COUNTRY: Weber State freshman Katie Bowen has been named the Big Sky Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. The Alpine native finished second at the BYU Autumn Classic in Provo Saturday, finishing with a time of 18:22.8 on the five-kilometer course. She helped the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the meet. Bowen has finished second overall in her first two collegiate meets. She was second at the Utah State Invitational Sept. 3.

WOMEN'S SOCCER: After Monday's victory over No. 22 Texas, BYU looks to keep the momentum as it heads to Wisconsin for the Big Toe Soccer Invitational this weekend.

The Cougars (6-0-0) challenge No. 14 Wisconsin (4-1-1) Friday night and face Colgate (3-2-0) Saturday afternoon in Madison, Wis. The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee is also competing in the tournament.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: USU travels to Palo Alto, Calif., this weekend to participate in the 2005 Stanford Invitational. The Aggies will play 24th-ranked UC Santa Barbara today, No. 3 Stanford on Friday and No. 23 St. Mary's on Saturday

Utah State is 5-4 on the year after defeating Weber State in four games in its last match.
