Mike Christopherson (Readers' Forum, Sept. 13) says "Send $1,000 to every household in Utah." If one family paid $10,000 in state income taxes, another family paid $2,000, another paid $750, and another paid nothing, would he truly expect each of those households to get the same $1,000 check? Do you know how many households in Utah paid less than $1,000 total state income taxes last year? Do they deserve all the benefits of this great state for free?
