The Utah Grizzlies announced Thursday they have scheduled a preseason game with the Idaho Steelheads for Friday, Oct. 14, at the Manchester Ice and Events Centre in McCall, Idaho. There will be no Salt Lake radio broadcast of the game.
The exhibition affair will be the first game for the Grizzlies as part of the ECHL. It will also be the first of nine 2005-2006 meetings between Utah and the Steelheads, who claimed the ECHL's Kelly Cup Championship in 2004.
Face-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the community located approximately 450 miles from Salt Lake City. Tickets can be purchased for the preseason game by calling 208-634-3570. The Manchester Ice and Events Centre seats 600.
Last week, the Grizzlies announced the signing of three players: 2002-2003 ECHL goaltender of the year Alfie Michaud (Mee-Shoh), high-scoring center Jeff Miles and second-year pro Kris Kasper.
Regular-season professional hockey returns to The E Center on Friday, Oct. 21.
