A man was killed after he apparently walked in front of an oncoming TRAX train just after 6 p.m. in Sandy.
Trains were halted for more than two hours Friday as officials investigated the accident. Sandy Police Lt. B. Densley said witnesses reported seeing the man, who is in his 30s, standing on the east side of the tracks near Pioneer Avenue (8350 South) and 150 East.
It is unknown whether the man, whose name was not released, intentionally stepped in front of the train, Densley said. The incident is under investigation. It is believed that no passengers were on the train at the time.
