Robert N. Kempe 1934 ~ 2005 NORTH OGDEN -Robert N. Kempe, 71, former resident of Soda Springs, Idaho, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side, on Sunday, September 18, 2005 from a chronic illness. He was born July 9, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Walter and Erika Kempe. Robert settled in Salt Lake City until his marriage to Jeanne Anne Catmull in 1962. They spent their first three years in Germany while he was serving with the U.S. Army. He loved serving his country. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including a second mission to Germany with his wife. Robert worked for the Monsanto Company as a mechanical engineer in Springfield, Massachusetts for 11 years. In 1976 the family moved to Soda Springs, Idaho where he worked another 20 years for Monsanto. He loved the Scouting program and was awarded the Silver Beaver for his service. Robert's hobby was photography. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Anne, children Robert C. (Debbie) Kempe, Heidi (Adam) Nebeker, Karl (Wendy) Kempe, Stephen Kempe, David Kempe, Sarah (Chris) Rigby, and Michael Kempe. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren whom he dearly loved. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the North Ogden 2nd Ward Chapel, 770 East 2100 North. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah.
