The Utah PTA launches its fifth annual "Road Trip" today.
Members of state PTA along with celebrity guests will visit more than nine schools across the state today, Wednesday and Thursday.
"Our Road Trip began its inception as a way for Utah PTA to extend our appreciation to thousands of volunteers and celebrate the endeavors of the local units," said Darci Hansen, Utah PTA Road Trip specialist. The trip is designed to raise awareness of the PTA's mission, help local units strengthen involvement opportunities in their own communities and promote the arts.
Celebrity guests include Paralympian and musical performer Lacey Heward, today; pianist and performer Jon Schmidt, Wednesday; and former Miss America Sharlene Wells-Hawkes, Thursday.
