The new "continuous flow intersection" going in on Bangerter Highway at 3500 South (Page B1, Sept.19) looks great on paper. Too bad it won't work.
Utah drivers get dumbfounded by the simple roundabout at the University of Utah. They don't stand a chance against something much more complicated. What happens when somebody turning left pulls up 5 feet past the first stop bar? Even worse, what will happen when too many people try to squeeze into the second left-turn area and completely block the road? It looks like a "no-flow intersection" to me.
