Obituary: James Allen Anderson

James Allen Anderson 1923 ~ 2005 James Allen Anderson, 81, of Pleasant Grove passed away peacefully at his home on September 19, 2005. He was born November 23, 1923, the fifth of 13 children, to James Cleon and Selma Jensen Anderson in Fairview, Utah. He married Audrey June Rolph on June 4, 1948 in the Manti Temple. Allen grew up in Sanpete County and attended schools there. He graduated from North Sanpete High School in 1942. Allen worked at Geneva Steel for 38 years. He was a man of many talents and skills. Endless hours were spent perfecting his garden and orchard. Allen built the family home in Orem where he and Audrey raised their five children. Allen was an active member of the LDS Church where he held many positions during his life. Allen and Audrey loved to travel and did so extensively. He enjoyed golf, playing guitar and time at the family cabin. Allen enjoyed bowling and won gold medals at the Senior Games in St. George. (It was quite a life!!) He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Audrey; five children: James Michael Anderson, Orem; Debbie and Bruce Nelson, Orem; Tanya and Brad Carter, Pleasant Grove; Janet and Chip Garriss, Peoria, AZ; and Valerie and Steve Burnett, Austin, TX; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grand-children; siblings, Ernel Anderson, Lowell Anderson, Gary Anderson, Elma Olsen, Ada Kinsman, and Oren Anderson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Orchard Ward Chapel, 825 South Locust Avenue, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services. Condolences may be sent to
