Obituary: Donald Lynn Coons

Donald Lynn Coons 1944 ~ 2005 Our dad and grandpa, Donald Lynn Coons, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, September 19, 2005 in Provo, Utah. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 10, 1944 to Harold and Carol Coons, the third of five children. He was raised in Aurora and Richfield, Utah. Dad loved to explore the hills of Sevier Valley, and also loved hunting and fishing. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1962 and attended Salt Lake Trade Tech where he received a certificate as an electronic technician. He then served in the North British Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1965 to 1967. After his mission, he went to California and completed his Associate Degree, then went to BYU and finished his Bachelor's Degree in business. Anyone that knew Don was familiar with his quick wit and the ability to sell a person anything. Dad could tell stories with the best, and was a never-ending fountain of knowledge. He married Mary Robison in the Los Angeles Temple. They had five children, and were later divorced. In later years, he married Julie Turner and they later divorced. He is survived by his children, Heather (Brian) Davis of Payson; Elizabeth (Robert) Earnest of Sonoma, CA; David (Adrianne) Coons of Sonoma, CA; Bryan (Patricia) Coons of Redwood City, CA; and Angela (David) Niacaris of Brea, CA. He is also survived by his mother, Carol; his sisters Valerie and Diane; and his brother Steven; grandchildren, Aspen, McKell, Tyler, Atticus, Holden, Madison and Demetri were the joy of his life. We will dearly miss you, Dad. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Richard. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel, 50 S. 100 W., Richfield.
