Werner Fornos, president of the Population Institute, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the social hall of the Jewish Community Center, 2 N. Medical Drive.
The lecture, presented by the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy in partnership with the center, is part of the Population Institute's "Educate America" tour, designed to raise public awareness of world population issues and especially the impact of rapid population growth on the global environment, health and social well-being.
Fornos, winner of the 2003 United Nations Population Award, has been the president of the Population Institute since 1982. He is the U.N. representative of the International Council on the Management of Population Programs.
