Dontrelle Willis won his major league-leading 22nd game Thursday night, beating the Mets and Pedro Martinez 2-1. Willis pitched eight innings and allowed five hits and one run while striking out seven.

Red Sox reliever Keith Foulke is expected to have surgery on his injured left knee and is likely done for the year. A day after falling out of first place in the AL East for the first time since July 18, the Red Sox sent Foulke home from the road trip to see team physician Thomas Gill.
