Offense — grade B
The Aggies did just enough to win the game and only turned the ball over one time. Their rushing yardage (61) was 102 yards less than they had against Utah in the opener. The passing game was much better with 222 yards.
Defense — grade B+
Although the defense allowed 387 yards total offense, it made the stops when it needed. Jarrett Bush had an interception in the end zone right before the half, and USU held the Rebels out of the end zone in the final seconds, when they had three shots to tie the score.
Special teams — grade A-
Tony Pennyman had a 92-yard touchdown return as well as a 41-yarder, and kicker Jarrod Jakubiak hit a 25-yard field goal. Luckily, his missed extra-point didn't come back to haunt him.
Overall — grade B+
The Aggies had 12 penalties for 136 yards. Many of those halted their own drives and sustained others for UNLV. The passing game was much better, and they know they have the ability to run the ball even though the offense struggled running it Saturday.
