While glancing through today's Idaho Falls Post Register, I happened to come upon an article indicating that Blackfoot city officials are contemplating going along with a proposal made by a number of convenience stores/gas stations to require prepayment of all gas sold, in one form or another.
To my way of thinking, this step is long overdue. So what if a few shoppers are bent out of shape due to a bit of inconvenience. Perhaps if those doing the whining were the ones required to make up the loss of revenue, they might begin to understand the quandary that the store owners face. I would wager that the majority of complaints are from those who realize this would put an end to filling their tanks, then skipping without paying.
