Pauline Gardiner Carlson "1915 ~ 2005" Our cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully at home September 28, 2005, at the age of 89. She was born December 11, 1915, to Eli Arthur and Margaret Dunford Gardiner. Married Floyd Alma Carlson in the Salt Lake Temple January 16, 1942. She was in the first graduating class of South High School in 1933. A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she will always be remembered for her great strength, enduring to the end, love of work, love of reading, love of the scriptures and the Gospel, and especially for her love of family. She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her brother, Carlos Gardiner, son Paul, daughters Carolyn Carlson, Linda (Antonius) Hoefnagel, and Ann (Roy) Myntti. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren Mark Hoefnagel, Marie Sherrod, David Myntti, Denise Myntti, Michelle Ballif, Jill Whitmore, Gina Myntti, Emma Carlson, and Sheila Myntti, and a great-granddaughter Kara Myntti. A viewing will be held at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple on Sat., Oct. 1, 2005, from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. followed by a graveside service at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave. and N Street, at 1:30 p.m. The family wishes to thank CareSource Hospice for their invaluable help and care given mother.
