Obituary: Jean Williams Player

Jean Williams Player 1919 ~ 2005 Beloved mother, grandmother "Granny" and great-grandmother, Jean Williams Player, passed away from natural causes on September 26, 2005 in Salt Lake City. She was born on September 18, 1919 in Cedar City, Utah to Milburn W. Williams and Dora Urie Williams. She married Arthur Harry Player on March 19, 1938 in Parowan, Utah. Later divorced. Jean possessed the spirit and the work ethic of her pioneer heritage. She was known throughout the world for her hand crocheted afghans and for her homemade candy. Jean loved the mountains of Utah and Idaho, especially in the fall. Her children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren were her greatest joy. The lessons she taught her loved ones will endure for many generations. She is survived by her children Doralee (Jerry) Flannery, Sandy, Utah; Gordon (Terry) Player, Sun Valley, Idaho; Nancy Jean Coffman, Salt Lake City, Utah; and David (Vivian) Player, Boise, Idaho; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister Cleo Alvord, Boise, Idaho; and brother David Williams, Cedar City, Utah. Preceded in death by parents, Milburn and Dora Williams, sister Hope Cooper and brother Robert Williams. The family would like to thank the staff of the Wellington Assisted Living Center and Care Source Hospice facilities for their loving care of our mother. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends and family may call from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the services. Entombment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Garden of the Roses Mausoleum.
