Weber State

VOLLEYBALL: Weber State fell in five games Friday to San Jose State in the first match of the Air Force Falcon Invitational, 30-26, 25-30, 30-25, 30-17, 15-13. WSU freshman Leah Burmeister finished with 26 kills. WSU was playing No. 10 Wisconsin late Friday and will play one match today.

FOOTBALL: Weber State is asking fans attending tonight's game in Stewart Stadium to contribute cash to help the relief effort in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Under the direction of associate athletic director Melissa Freigang, members of the Student Athlete Advisor Board (SAAC) will be stationed at each entrance of Stewart Stadium. All money raised will go directly to the Red Cross relief effort.

Utah State

SOCCER: Sophomore Dana Peart extended her goal-scoring streak to three matches, but Utah State (0-2-1) fell to UNLV Friday night.


VOLLEYBALL: In Columiba, Mo., Utah fell to No. 21-ranked Missouri, 3-0 at the Tiger Invitational, 30-28, 30-22, and 30-21. The Utes (2-1 overall) battle No. 9 Tennessee on tonight. Freshman Airial Salvo led the Utes with 10 kills. She was the lone Ute in double digits as Emillie Toone racked up eight kills for the second-best total on the team. Shannon Krug set the attack in tallying 24 assists.

Brigham Young

SOCCER: Freshman Jessica Aquino scored twice in the first half and once in the second to help BYU (3-0-0) beat Weber State, 5-1.
