Red Cross to train helpers

The Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer training today for individuals wanting to help the hurricane evacuees being housed at Camp Williams.

The sessions will be held at the Sheraton Hotel, 150 W. 500 South, in Salt Lake City.

Each training session will last about two hours, beginning with the first class session at 10 a.m. and continuing every two hours until the last class begins at 6 p.m.

The Red Cross is not accepting donations of food or clothing, but it is working with evacuees on a case-by-case basis to determine their needs.
