Jared Garrard 1982 ~ 2005 On Sunday, September 4, 2005 Jared Luke Garrard lost his sixteen year battle with cancer. Jared was born to L. James and Patricia Ann Garrard (Mellor) on May 18, 1982 in Logan, Utah. He graduated from Tooele High School in 2000. He served as an LDS missionary in the Arizona Phoenix Mission from August 2001 to July 2003. He was blessed with amazing health through out his mission. He loved his mission and cherished the many experiences he had, while serving the Lord, especially the love that he developed for the Navajo people. He loved teaching his Sunday School class and faithfully taught his lesson up until 3 weeks ago. He is survived by his parents, brothers: Joshua (Leeann), Cameron, Cody and sister Brittney, nieces: Bailey, Ryleigh and Avery, grandparents Leslie and Janet Garrard, all of Lake Point, and his great-grandmother Olive Johnson of Grants, NM. Also survived by many special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his grandparents LaVell and Virginia Mellor. Viewing will be held in the Lake Point LDS ward house, Wednesday, September 7th 6-8 p.m. Services will be held in the Lake Point LDS ward house, Thursday, September 8th 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited one hour prior to services, for a private viewing. Interment will be at the Lake Point Cemetery. The family would like to thank Sue Barrus from CNS Hospice, the staff at Utah Cancer Specialists, Dr. Hayostek and her staff at St. Mark's Radiation therapy. We would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Anna Beck who cared for him through out his treatments and as his hospice doctor. Thanks to all those who supported and loved him.
