Obituary: Leora Hollingsworth

Leora Hollingsworth "Lee" Leora "Lee" Louise Bosen Hollingsworth, 95, died September 4, 2005 at the home of her daughter, Sandra Johns, surrounded by her loving family after bravely enduring challenges due to age. Born in Ephraim, Utah to Andrew Christian and Louisa Carlson Bosen. When she was a child, they bought a dairy farm and moved the family to Riverdale, Idaho where she grew up one of 12 children and the last living member of that family. She married her childhood sweetheart, Lyman James Hollingsworth January 14, 1927 and they made their home in Salt Lake City. She was a soft spoken, peace-loving woman who devoted her life to making a home for her family. Her homemade bread, chili sauce, pies and fudge were the best. She loved playing games, the harmonica and ukulele, to crochet and bowl and always whistled while she worked. Survived by daughters: Corinne Pratt (Don Jay), Beverly Dansie, Shirley (Gibb) Harris, Sandra (Dennis) Johns; daughters-in-law, Jeannine and Starr; son-in-law, Ben Wood; 29 grandchildren; 56 great and 35 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband; sons: David James, Kenneth Merlin and Lyman Jerry; daughter, Gloria Jean Wood; three grandsons; one granddaughter. The family wishes to express love and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Vista Care Hospice for the loving care they have given our mother and family, especially Dee "Ditz", Erica and Anne. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road where a viewing will be held Friday, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park.
